Lynette Ebberts enjoyed a successful career as a public affairs officer for the US Department of Defense, working with the highest level of military and civilian officials and media outlets from around the world, until retiring prematurely due to catastrophic illnesses.
During her first major assignment, Lynette worked as the public affairs officer for US Navy Chief of Chaplains, Dr. Barry C. Black, who now serves as US Senate Chaplain. Lynette went on to work for then Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld and other White House officials under the George W. Bush administration during the highly controversial Iraq and Afghanistan wars.
Representing Secretary Rumsfeld, Lynette experienced a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity as she temporarily deployed to an active war zone in Iraq, as a civilian, with US troops in 2006 during the initial phases of the war.
Lynette is member of Florida Writers Association, and Florida Authors and Publishers Association. She volunteers at church, and at special events at the White House. She is a devoted wife, mom, and grandma to her precious grand babies. Jesus Christ is the center of her life. Lynette and her husband, Doug, live in Florida with their dog, Jax.
